Driving Inclusive Practice and Sustainable Impact in Schools


I am Leanne, an experienced Inclusion Lead and qualified SENDCo with over a decade of practice across schools in Birmingham, Solihull and Worcestershire. My professional background includes leadership roles as Designated Safeguarding Lead, Attendance LeadThrive Practitioner, Behaviour Lead and Designated Teacher for Looked After Children.

My work is driven by a commitment to improving outcomes for pupils with SEND through direct, school-based support that strengthens whole-school inclusion systems and builds staff capacity. I work collaboratively within settings to embed effective practice and ensure provision is both strategic and sustainable.

Strategic SEND and Inclusion Development

  • Whole-school inclusion and SEND audits with clear, actionable priorities

  • Development and refinement of SEND systems, processes and documentation

  • Interim SENDCo or Inclusion Lead support to maintain statutory compliance and continuity

  • Mentoring and coaching for new or developing SENDCos

  • Review and enhancement of graduated response and provision mapping

Targeted Pupil and Provision Support

  • In-school work directly with pupils to assess needs and implement interventions

  • Evidence gathering and contribution to EHCNA requests and reviews

  • Delivery of person-centred reviews, annual reviews and multi-agency collaboration

  • Observation and assessment to inform high-quality, tailored support

  • Implementation of autism-friendly and neurodiversity-aware classroom strategies

SEMH and Behaviour Support

  • Observation, assessment and practical intervention planning

  • Development of proactive, restorative and relationship-based approaches

  • Support for staff in understanding and using declarative language

  • Strategies to reduce disruption, improve emotional regulation and build pupil wellbeing

Training and Professional Learning

  • Bespoke training for leaders, teachers and support staff on:

    • Inclusive classroom practice and adaptive teaching

    • Understanding neurodiversity (ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH)

    • Behaviour as communication

    • Restorative and relational approaches

    • Effective classroom environments for SEND pupils

  • Coaching and reflective supervision for ECTs or inclusion-focused practitioners

Family and Multi-Agency Partnership

  • Support for parental engagement and communication around SEND

  • Facilitation of multi-agency collaboration and review meetings

  • Development of person-centred, solution-focused approaches that strengthen partnership working
